Jackpot at Walmart!

So, it's Friday night and we were supposed to go out of town. Well, things didn't work out as planned, so we stayed home. Robert still had some commitments out of town and he has now left me at home with 3 kids under 4 1/2 for the first time overnight!!!! ::jaw dropping:: So, I knew had to find something to keep the kids occupied! Well, Walmart here I come! I could walk around there for hours. And even better, my kids could walk around for even longer! What would we mom's do with out a Walmart!

Well, my favorite shopping time of the year is when the seasons change and literally all the stores have clearances. Walmart clearance aisles - here we come!! So my daughter knows that I like good deals. And she now has learned that "good deals" come with a colored price tag. For example, at Brunos's they are purple tags hanging from the clearance items and Parisians, it's yellow tags on top of the racks. Theses tags usually mean more way more than 50% off!

So we're in Walmart killing time. I've put Lillian in the baby sling around me and the other two are in the cart. And Olivia asks me, "What color are we looking for, Mommy?" I responded, "RED baby!!" I'm smiling, hoping that I am slowly training her to be good with money and recognize a SALE!!!

Well, we migrate back to the toy section and there are about 4 isles with RED tags saying CLEARANCE! Can we say, jackpot??? I think the kids thought it was Christmas. Even better, there was a man with a huge white beard, red shirt, and red pants with suspenders walking around the toy section - NO KIDDING. Well, what do you think they said OUT LOUD??

"Hey, that man looks like SANTA CLAUS!!!?" so loud that I can hear people around me chuckle!

He just turned around and smiled.

So this is what we took home! Fun things to keep them occupied while Daddy is away!

And poor Lillian - she was just hanging out on a pillow on the couch! Of course happy as can be!

Thank goodness she is such a good baby!! I think she knew life wasn't going to slow down much for her in my tummy!!!

Well, I'm off to try to get some sleep tonight - yeah, we'll see how that goes!!

Survived School!

Well, my little girl started school!! She only goes 3 half day a week but I still felt like I was sending her off!! The first day she was really nervous and we had to kind of pull her through the doorways of the school! But hearing what she thought when I picked her up made me feel so much better! She really enjoyed it! I'm so glad that she has something that's "hers" that she can bring back into the family! School is something she gets to enjoy with out mommy or brothers and sisters! It's been fun to see what she brings home! I even got to see her play duck duck goose when I picked her up the other day! It was SOOOO cute! All these tiny kids running around chasing each other while still trying to keep their circle! But I got to witness Olivia's interaction with her schoolmates and even her teacher! There was something so cute about her addressing her teacher "Mrs. Ousley". She's growing up!!

I'm also enjoying time with my son when my daughter is at school. He is totally different when she isn't around. But, boy, you put them together and there are fireworks!! They really fire each other up. Sometimes it's cute and they're playing really well, and then all the sudden I'm chasing them and putting them in timeout! But my little boy is so sweet and thoughtful! After lunch the other day without sister, he got down out of his chair, scraped his plate and put his fork and plate in the dishwasher!!! WITHOUT BEING ASKED!! Now, this is not something that I've been "working" on them with or even expect out of him yet! I just praised him and told him how proud I was for cleaning up his plate! He was so proud of himself! I really think he got the "clean gene". He also really likes to put stuff away out of the dishwasher!

Anyway, I've enjoyed embarking on this new chapter of life called school! I'm nervous at the same time. I've never had to deal with other parents or teachers on a regular basis like this. What if some conflict arises? I hate conflict. What if I don't agree with something that is going on? How to I handle it if my child gets in trouble? All things that I'm sure I will encounter. I guess I'm still growing up too!

What am I doing?????......

Well, I'm totally new at this.....blogging thing. I certainlyhave no idea where to start. I'll start at "why". Why did I decide to do this? Well, I've recently had some friends start blogging and have really enjoyed reading all their posts. I also thought that it could be a really fun way for friends and family to keep up with all that is going on in our crazy life!! I'm a stay at home mom of 3 kids with a wonderful husband that is in accounting! Until 3 days ago, all 3 kids were at home with me all the time. And that probably doesn't sound like a big deal until I tell you that they are all under 4 1/2 years old. I can't tell you how many times I hear, "where are they in school/mother's day out?" Well, not everyone can afford that. And also...why do I stay home then? I'm here to be the daycare. Now, not every day is pleasant and there are some I'm close to tears. But I'm grateful that I can be the #1 influence in their little lives. Hopefully I can train their little hearts to love God... and also be decent little human beings on this earth. :-) I've once heard it said, "the days are long, but the years are short!" In the grand scheme of thing, i can "give up" a little of my time to "sacrafice" being at home with my kids while they are small. Because it'll only be a matter of time before they're gone!!!!!
